Knowing Your Metabolic Type Can Increase Your Performance

Knowing your metabolic type can provide for you some surprising benefits.  Take, for instance, your athletic performance.  In his book, The Metabolic Typing Diet, William Wolcott tells the story of a NFL player who found his performance on the field deteriorating for no known reason.  Upon being tested to determine his metabolic type, it was discovered that the team training table had been modified to be a high protein diet.  This would seem to make sense because of the great demand for protein that NFL players would seem to have.  However, this particular player's metabolic typing test revealed that he had, in fact, more of a carbohydrate-based metabolism.  When his diet was modified to better suit his metabolic type, his performance immediately returned to the prior level.   The lesson is, we are not all the same.  We definitely do not all have the same type of metabolism.  Some of us do much better on a higher protein diet, some better on a higher carbohydrate diet, and some better on a diet balanced between the two.

Probably, the closest you will ever come to being a NFL star is Monday Night Football.  However, the principles of metabolism apply regardless of who you are and the level of your activity.  Your metabolic type plays an integral role in all your health, your weight loss, and your performance, at whatever level that may be.  If you have not already taken the Metabolic Type Test, do so today and apply what you learn.  It really works.
