Attention Deficit Disorder - Diagnosis

- The child's activity levels and attention levels are outside what would be considered normal for a child of that age and environment.
- The symptoms of ADD must have persisted for at least six months.
- The symptoms of ADD must have been observed in two different settings i.e.; at school and at home.
- The symptoms must have begun before the age of seven.
- The symptoms must have persisted for at least six months.
- The symptoms cannot be attributed to other factors in the child’s life such as a divorce or death in the family.
