The Pharmaceutical/Government Complex’s “Seven Step Recipe for Generating Interest In, and Demand for, Flu Vaccination.” The Rest of the Story:
Is it conceivable, you ask, that corruption in high places of our government and the pharmaceutical industry could actually be used as an instrument to sell millions of doses of vaccine which we don't need? Even worse, vaccine that is literally harmful to us? The notion of such corruption in high places is very difficult to accept. Yet, I remind you of the financial disasters of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the banking industry and other assorted industries in the recent past where corruption had its tentacles in the highest places including Congress. Yes, it is conceivable and true that such a fraud has been perpetrated upon the people of this nation and the world.
Over the course of the next few blog posts I will establish for you the fact that we have been duped and led astray by the very people in whom we put our total trust and confidence for our families’ health and well being. Even our health care providers, the doctors and related institutions, including the insurance industry are victims of this fraud as the responsibility goes much higher than the local physician on the street. All the way to Washington, in fact.

Let's begin with the stated marketing tactics that the vaccine industry has adopted in order to sell their wares. Sales, by the way, that will be funded by your and my tax dollars. The United States alone is spending $2 billion to stockpile the nation with about 250 million doses of vaccine. This huge profit potential could never be accomplished without an intensive marketing campaign on the part of the pharmaceutical/government complex. Therefore, it is incumbent upon the CDC to sustain the fictional horror stories of numerous elderly dying in nursing homes, unvaccinated pregnant moms and children facing life threatening complications, and scores of sick and dead. Let's take a look at how they have set out to accomplish their task.
Peter Doshi first brought public attention to the CDC’s PR influenza strategy known as the Seven Step Recipe. Glen Nowak, now the Director of the CDC’s Media Relations, outlined a concise public relations template while serving as the communications spokesperson for the National Immunization Program. Speaking at the 2004 National Influenza Vaccine Summit, he presented the CDC’s seven steps. After a careful review of Nowak’s Powerpoint presentation we discover a very detailed and concerted PR and multimedia campaign that includes the following (quotes are from CDC’s materials):
- To encourage the belief that influenza infection can “occur among people for whom influenza is not generally perceived to cause serious complications (e.g., children, healthy adults, healthy seniors).” In other words, promote flu vaccination to those who don’t really need it.
- In order to “foster the demand for flu vaccinations” the CDC should target “medical experts and public health authorities publicly (e.g., via media) to state concern and alarm (and predict dire outcomes) – and urge influenza vaccination.”
- By focusing on the message of dire health threats and human casualties upon those who don’t really need to be vaccinated, the CDC will reach its milestone of “framing of the flu"
